Statement on COVID-19 and Summer 2020 Mission Trips

April 3rd, 2020

Dear Friends and Supporters of AMEN St. Louis,

We hope you are continuing to stay at home and healthy as we journey through this time of collective uncertainty in the COVID-19 crisis.

After a lot of prayer and discerning conversation, AMEN St. Louis in partnership with church leadership has decided to cancel all of our summer programming for 2020.
We are deeply saddened by this decision, and yet we believe it is the wisest way forward. We deeply value protecting the health and safety of our program participants, the organizations they serve, and all of our neighbors.  Although current predictions say that the virus will peak in the St. Louis region in May, we simply don’t know what lies ahead and what impact the virus will have on our community. We believe it is best for our mission teams, our partner organizations, and our neighborhood that we put our programming on hiatus.  We will resume programming in the fall and expect a full summer of programming for 2021.

In the coming week, AMEN St. Louis will be calling all mission teams who have 2020 reservations to discuss how we will move forward with deposits and re-scheduling.  We are here for any questions or concerns that you have, so please do not hesitate to reach out at

In the Spirit,

Annie Girresch, AMEN St. Louis Director
Oak HIll Presbyterian Church Mission Committee
Rev. Erin Counihan, Oak Hill Presbyterian Church Pastor
